DAÏMÔN is an artist-run centre whose mission is to support artistic exploration, creation, production and dissemination in the field of digital and media arts, and more precisely in video, audio and photography.

Located in the Outaouais region of Quebec, DAÏMÔN is a resource centre for artists in the region. It also hosts artists in residence from Quebec, the rest of Canada and abroad. DAÏMÔN provides a range of resources for artistic exploration: it has four principal areas of activity: artists residencies and programs to support artistic creation; special projects; equipment access services; and, since 2008, a year-round public events program in our Studio. Through these activities, Daïmôn: – supports the creation of independent works in media art; – maintains an artist in residence program; – offers professional development workshops based on artistic approaches; – organises public events (concerts, screenings, public talks); – presents year-round public programming in its Studio; – initiates partnerships and collaborations on the local, provincial, national and international levels; – develops special projects that address present-day theoretical and practical issues in media art; – maintains an equipment rental service which also provides technical assistance. In carrying out its mandate, DAÏMÔN believes in the value of independent artistic work, in innovation in the media arts, in intellectual rigour and in playing a vital role in the region as part of an artistic community.
