Research-Creation Residency

From January 9 to January 31, 2016

Lungta is a robotic audio performance featuring a physical matrix 192 motor / fan activating a series of paper sheets arranged to form a two-dimensional grid. Acting as a screen or rather video synthesizer, the matrix reveals a rich and complex set of interactions between sound, videographic capture and performative gestures. The voltage of the motors can be controlled individually, so that the positioning of each sheet of paper to be actually one pixel of a rendered image at a very low resolution.

Performance by Patrick St-Denis: WEDNESDAY January 27 at 7pm.
