Prerequisite :
Smartphone charged with 8GB of space available and a selfie stick if it’s possible.
Connexion cables.
Knowledge of video production is not necessary.
Preferably, bring a laptop on September 22nd

This training is offered in collaboration with Culture Outaouais and with the financial contribution of Emploi Québec.

Description:
This 10 hour workshop explores the versatility of smartphone cameras and demonstrates how smartphones can be an accessible tool that allows artists of all levels to make art videos with new creative approaches. For this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones and laptops. It will focus on experimental techniques and practices, and will include a 6 hour workshop day focused on pre-production and production and 4 hours on post-production using simple or professional software.

Day 2 :
– Editing
– How to pick an editing software
– Footage Organisation
– Simple editing, importation and exportation
– Complex editing: transitions, visual and sound effects, titles and music

Trainer
Originally from Corsica and currently living in Ottawa, Izabel Barsive is a visual artist, producer, director of photography and video editor.
For several years, she has been producing experimental videos, videodanses as well as documentaries, reports and institutional videos. She is also a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa for the communications department since 2005. As a trained occupational therapist, she also develops visual and media arts projects with people with special needs.
