Philippe Internoscia

Artist in residency
September 4 to September 30, 2018

Philippe Internoscia‘s work uses environments and oneiric figures to take advantage of the creative potential of real and virtual 3D spaces. The icons often included in his scenes in a surreal way eliminate all possibilities of simple reading. In the same way that psychoanalysis looks at the confusion in the imagery of the subconscious and focuses on the central symbols, its constructions are articulated around monumental objects, confused and realistic images, which both attract and disorient.

Based on his series Monument Mou, Philippe Internoscia, will work on a new corpus of work related to his sculptural production. He will use DAÏMÔN‘s multifonctionnal studio to conduct a serie of tests and experiments.

Philippe Internoscia completed his MFA in Open Media at Concordia University (2017) and holds a BA in Visuel and Media Arts from UQAM (2013). Philippe Internoscia has expertise in sewing, 3D modeling and graphic design, he carries out direct cut sculpture research and is interested in psychoanalysis. He is recipient of Hexagram Research-creation grant and ACREQ/Elektra.

Internoscia’s work has been exhibited in Various group shows in Canada and abroad (Germany, UK, Brazil) Some recent exhibition includes Encan Plein Sud at Plein Sud, Onde sao os ossos? at Visual Arts Center of the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil and AUTOMATA: BIANMTL at Arsenal Contemporary art.
